Intended Use of the Canine Distemper Virus Antibody Test Kit

Canine distemper virus (CDV) belongs taxonomically to the family Paramyxoviridae, genus Measles virus, and is a single-stranded RNA virus. The natural genera of infection are canines and skunks, and transmission is mainly through air and droplet levels. Sick dogs are an important source of infection and contaminate the surrounding environment through long-term detoxification through urine. Canine Distemper Virus Antibody Test Kit is used to detect antibodies to the Canine Distemper Virus in whole blood, serum, or plasma of dogs of different ages, sexes, and breeds.

Test Principle of the Canine Distemper Virus Antibody Test Kit

Canine Distemper Virus Antibody Test Kit is made by the principle of colloidal gold immunochromatographic test. After the sample is added to the test well, it moves along the chromatographic membrane together with the colloidal gold marker, and the detection line will appear red if CDV antibody is present in the sample, and no color will appear if CDV antibody is not present in the sample.

The Canine Distemper test kit is able to detect Canine Distemper Virus antigen concentration, demonstrating quantitative results. The test serves only as an aid to the diagnosis. For professional use only.

Intend Use

For rapid screening of canine distemper virus in canine whole blood, serum, or plasma (CDV).

Sample Requirements

  1. This kit is only suitable for the detection of dog whole blood, serum or plasma samples.
  2. Test samples Collect fresh samples and put them in the diluent immediately. The diluted samples should be tested as soon as possible within 1 hour.
  3. If it cannot be detected in time, the diluted samples can be stored at 2-8°C for 24 hours and at -20°C for 1 month.

How to Use CDV-Ab Test Kit

  1. Use disposable cotton swabs to collect dog fecal and rectal samples, put the samples into diluent and stir, stand still for 1min, take out the cotton swabs, tighten the lid, and mix upside down.
  2. Tear open the aluminium foil bag of the test card, remove the test card and place it on a flat, clean countertop.
  3. Pipette 3 drops (about 80 μl) of the diluted sample into the spiked well of the test card and wait for the test result.
  4. Wait for 10-15 min at room temperature to read the test results. After 20 min the test results are invalid.

Note: The above reading time is conducted at a room temperature of 15-30℃. The reading time should be extended if the temperature is lower than 15℃. If the temperature is higher than 30℃, the reading time should be shortened.

Interpretation of Results

Negative: In the test window, only one fuchsia-colored line appears next to “C”.
Positive: In the test window, two distinct colored lines appear simultaneously next to “T” & “C”.
Invalid: no color line visible next to “C”.

test result

NOTE: Invalid test results can be caused by various reasons and should be re-tested.

Interpretation of Test Results

  1. The negative test results indicate the absence of canine distemper virus in the samples. The infection cannot be ruled out if the corresponding acute symptoms occur.
  2. The test results were positive, indicating samples containing canine distemper virus.
  3. Multiple reasons may cause invalid results and should be re-tested.

Limitations of Canine Distemper Virus Antibody Test Kit

  • This kit can only detect the presence of canine distemper virus antigen in the samples examined.
  • The test results are for clinical reference only and are not the basis for diagnosis.

Intended Use of the Canine Coronavirus Antigen Test Kit

Canine coronavirus (CCV) is a single-win RNA virus with six to seven polypeptides, four of which are glycopeptides and do not contain RNA polymerase or neuraminidase. Corona in dogs can occur with varying degrees of gastroenteritis, characterized by frequent vomiting, diarrhea, depression, and anorexia. The disease can occur throughout the year but is more prevalent in winter, and the sick dog is the leading infectious agent. The Canine Coronavirus Antigen Test Kit is used to detect canine coronavirus antigens in the feces and rectum of dogs.

Test Principle of the Canine Coronavirus Antigen Test Kit

The Canine Coronavirus Antigen Test Kit uses a rapid immunochromatographic assay to detect canine coronavirus antigen.
A rectal or fecal sample is added to the spiked wells and then moved along the chromatographic membrane with a colloidal gold-labeled anti-CCV monoclonal antibody. If the CCV antigen is present in the sample, it binds to the antibody on the test line and appears red. No color reaction is produced if the CCV antigen is not present in the sample.

The Canine Coronavirus Antigen Test Kit is able to detect canine coronavirus antigen concentration, demonstrating quantitative results. The test serves only as an aid to the diagnosis. For professional use only.

Intend Usec

For rapid screening of Canine Coronavirus in the feces and rectum (CCV).

Canine influenza virus (CIV) belongs to the family Orthomyxoviridae and the genus Influenza A virus, which mainly includes two subtypes. The virus has the characteristics of rapid transmission, wide transmission route, high infectiousness, and obvious symptoms. The target of the disease is mainly the epithelial cells of the upper respiratory tract mucosa, with a small proportion appearing in the stomach and intestines. The main manifestations are fever, cough, runny nose, and sometimes high fever with symptoms such as rhinitis, bronchitis, respiratory bleeding, etc. Interstitial pneumonia may also occur in severely affected dogs. The Canine Influenza Virus Antigen Test Kit is used to detect canine influenza virus antigens in dogs’ eye secretions, nasal fluids, and saliva.

Test principle of the Canine Influenza Virus Antigen Test Kit

This Canine Influenza Virus Antigen Test Kit detects canine influenza virus antigen using a rapid immunochromatographic technique. After samples obtained from eye secretions, nasal fluids, and saliva are added to the test tape wells, the samples are moved along the chromatographic membrane together with a colloidal gold-labeled anti-CIV monoclonal antibody. The T detection line shows red if the CIV antigen is present in the sample. If the CIV antigen is not present in the sample, the T detection line does not appear in color.

The Canine Influenza Virus Antigen Test Kit is able to detect Canine Influenza Virus antigen concentration, demonstrating quantitative results. The test serves only as an aid to the diagnosis, for professional use only.

Intend Use

For rapid screening of Canine Influenza Virus in canine eye and conjunctival secretions, nasal fluid or saliva (CIV).

Sample Requirements

  • This Canine Influenza Virus Antigen Test Kit is only suitable for testing eye secretions, nasal fluids, and saliva samples from dogs.
  • The sample for the test must be collected immediately, the sample should be put into the dilution solution immediately after sampling, and the diluted sample should be tested as soon as possible, within 1 hour.
  • Diluted samples can be stored at 2-8°C for 24 hours and can be stored at -20°C for one month.

How to Use Canine Influenza Virus Antigen Test Kit?

  1. Disposable swabs were used to collect samples of eye secretions, nasal fluids, and saliva from the dogs, and then the swabs were placed in the diluted solution and mixed and left to stand for 1 minute. Remove the swab, tighten the cap, and turn the sample tube upside down to mix.
  2. Place the test strip on a flat, clean table.
  3. Pipette 3 drops (approximately 80 μl) of sample onto the assay tape and wait for the test results.
  4. Wait for 10-15 min at room temperature to read the test results. After 20 min, the test results are invalid.

Note: The above interpretation time is conducted at room temperature 15-30℃. If the temperature is lower than 15℃, the interpretation time should be delayed appropriately. If the temperature exceeds 30 ℃, the results should be read in advance.

Interpretation of Results

Negative: Only the C line appears as a red color.
Positive: Both T and C lines appear purplish red.
Invalid: No color appears in the C line.

test result

NOTE: Invalid test results can be caused by a variety of reasons and should be re-tested.
