Intended Use of the Canine Parvovirus Antibody Test Kit

Canine Parvovirus (CPV) belongs to the Parvoviridae family, the genus Parvovirus. Canine parvovirus is highly resistant to commonly used disinfectants and can survive in feces for months to years. Canine parvovirus is highly contagious and can be infected by dogs of different ages, genders and breeds, especially juvenile puppies.

Dogs infected with canine parvovirus have acute onset and high mortality. Clinical manifestations are vomiting and diarrhea. This kit detects parvovirus antibodies by detecting canine whole blood, serum or plasma.

Test principle of the CPV-Ab Test Kit

The kit is made by the principle of colloidal gold immunochromatography. After the sample is added to the sample hole, it moves along the chromatographic membrane together with the colloidal gold marker. If there is CPV antibody in the sample, the detection line will display purple-red. If there is no CPV in the sample Antibodies do not produce a color reaction.

The Canine Parvovirus test kit is able to detect Canine Parvovirus antigen concentration, demonstrating quantitative results. The test serves only as an aid to the diagnosis. For professional use only. And the quantitative results are trackable.

Intend Use

For rapid screening of Canine Parvovirus in canine whole blood, serum, or plasma (CPV).

Sample Requirements

  1. This Canine Adenovirus Antigen Test Kit is only suitable for testing canine whole blood, serum or plasma samples.
  2. The sample for the test must be collected immediately, the sample should be put into the dilution solution immediately after sampling, and the diluted sample should be tested as soon as possible, within 1 hour.
  3. Diluted samples can be stored at 2-8°C for 24 hours and can be stored at -20°C for one month.

How to Use Canine Parvovirus Antibody Test Kit

  1. Collect dog whole blood, serum or plasma samples, add the samples to the diluent after collection, tighten the lid, and mix by inversion.
  2. Tear open the aluminium foil bag of the test card, take out the test card, and put it on a flat and clean table.
  3. Pipe 3 drops of sample solution (about 80μL), and add to the sample well of the test card.
  4. Read test results within 10-15 min at room temperature, and those results beyond 20 min are invalid.

Note: The above reading time is conducted at the room temperature of 15-30℃. If the temperature is lower than 15℃, the reading time should be extended. If the temperature is higher than 30℃, the reading time should be shortened.

Interpretation of Results

Negative: In the test window, only one fuchsia-colored line appears next to “C”.
Positive: In the test window, two distinct colored lines appear simultaneously next to “T” & “C”.
Invalid: no color line visible next to “C”.

test result

NOTE: Invalid test results can be caused by various reasons and should be re-tested.

Interpretation of Test Results

  1. The negative test results indicate the absence of canine parvovirus antibody in the samples. The infection cannot be ruled out if the corresponding acute symptoms occur.
  2. The test results were positive, indicating samples containing canine parvovirus antibody
  3. Multiple reasons may cause invalid results and should be re-tested.

Limitations of Canine Parvovirus Antibody Test Kit

  • This kit can only detect the presence of canine parvovirus antibody in the samples examined.
  • The test results are for clinical reference only and are not the basis for diagnosis.

Intended Use of the Canine Adenovirus Antigen Test Kit

Canine adenovirus (CAV) is the most pathogenic of the mammalian adenovirus genus. There are two serotypes. Type I can cause both canine infectious hepatitis (an acute septic infectious disease characterized by central necrosis of the liver lobules, the appearance of inclusion bodies in the nuclei of liver parenchymal cells and cortical cells, and prolonged hemorrhage.) It can also cause fox encephalitis, so it is also called fox encephalitis and canine infectious hepatitis disease. Type II can cause canine infectious laryngotracheitis and enteritis. The Canine Adenovirus Antigen Test Kit is used to detect canine adenovirus antigens in canine eye secretions, nasal fluid, and saliva.

Test principle of the CAV-Ag Test Kit

The Canine Adenovirus Antigen Test Kit uses a rapid immunochromatographic assay to detect canine adenovirus antigens. You add a sample of your dog’s eye discharge, nasal fluid, or saliva to the spiking well of the test strip and move it along the chromatographic membrane with a colloidal gold-labeled anti-CAVt monoclonal antibody. If the CAV antigen is present in the sample, it will show red when bound to the antibody on the detection line. No color reaction is produced if the CAV antigen is not present in the sample.

The Canine Adenovirus Antigen Test Kit is able to detect Canine Adenovirus antigen concentration, demonstrating quantitative results. The test serves only as an aid to the diagnosis. For professional use only.

Intend Use

For rapid screening of Canine Adenovirus in canine eye secretions, nasal fluid, saliva and vomit. (CAV).

  3. Diluted samples can be stored at 2-8°C for 24 hours and can be stored at -20°C for one month.

How to Use Canine Adenovirus Antigen Test Kit

  1. Disposable swabs were used to collect samples of eye secretions, nasal fluids, and saliva from the dogs, and then the swabs were placed in the diluted solution and mixed and left to stand for 1 minute. Remove the swab, tighten the cap, and turn the sample tube upside down to mix.
  2. Tear open the aluminium foil bag of the test card, take out the test card, and put it on a flat and clean table.
