Feline Immunodeficiency Virus Antibody Test Kit (FIV-Ab)

Intended Use of the Feline Immunodeficiency Virus Antibody Test Kit

Feline AIDS is a feline infection caused by Feline Immunodeficiency Virus , an immunodeficiency condition similar to AIDS in humans.

This kit is used to detect feline HIV antibody in cat whole blood or serum for feline AIDS infection screening and auxiliary diagnosis.

Test principle of the FIV-Ab Test Kit

This product uses a rapid immunochromatographic technique for the detection of feline HIV antibodies in cat whole blood or serum. If the FIV antibody was present in the sample, it would bind specifically to the recombinant protein labeled with colloidal gold to form a complex that moved along the chromatographic membrane and was captured by the FIV antigen coated on the membrane, showing a wine red line on the detection line (T). If the FIV antibody is not present in the sample, no visible line is formed at the T position. No matter the result is negative or positive, the C line should be colored, otherwise the result is invalid.

Sample Requirements

1. Please refer to the instructions for use
2. This kit is only suitable for testing feline whole blood or serum samples (hemolysis and hyperlipidemia samples cannot be used).
3. Collect fresh samples and immediately put into the extraction buffer solution, which should be detected as soon as possible within 1 hour.
4. If samples were not timely detected, store within 24 hours at 2-8°C and store within 1 month at -20°C.

Product Performance Indifelineors

1. Sensitivity ≥ 95%.
2. Specificity ≥ 97.5%.
3. Precision: no more than one false negative and false positive results within the batch; the test lines & control line (cards) between three lots shall be uniform, and no more than one time of color difference between lots.
4. Stability: valid for 24 month if unopened & store 2-30°C.

Interpretation of Results

Negative: In the test window, only one fuchsia-colored line appears next to “C”
Positive: In the test window, two distinct colored lines appear simultaneously next to “T” & “C”
Invalid: no color line visible next to “C”

NOTE: Invalid test results can be caused by various reasons and should be re-tested.
