Giardia (GIA) is a common intestinal parasitic protozoan that is susceptible to both humans and pets. Giardia is most commonly found in dogs and occasionally in cats.
This kit is used for the detection of Giardia antigen in the feces of canine and feline, and can be used for the screening and auxiliary diagnosis of Giardia infection in canine and feline.
This product uses rapid immunochromatography technology to detect Giardia antigen in the feces of canine and feline. After the diluted sample was dropped into the sample well, if there was GIA antigen in the sample, it would specifically bind to the recombinant protein labeled with colloidal gold to form a complex that moved along the chromatographic membrane and was captured by GIA antibody coated on the membrane, showing a Burgundy line on the detection line (T). If the GIA antigen is not present in the sample, no visible lines are formed at the T position. No matter the result is negative or positive, the C line should be colored, otherwise the result is invalid.
Negative: In the test window, only one fuchsia-colored line appear next to “C”.
Positive: In the test window, two distinct colored lines appear next to “T” & “C” simultaneously.
Invalid: No color line visible next to “C”.
NOTE: Invalid test results can be caused by various reasons and should be re-tested.
